But for now its off to the day job.  This is the first New Years Day I have had to work in a long time.  I will find a way to make it arsty! Wishing you all a a colorful, creative, and productive new year.  More post to come, as long as I don’t get too distracted!

The Kountry Nook

Kountry Nook (44)Today I finished setting up my new booth at the Kountry Nook, Kountry Nook in Pekin, IL | 212 N Capitol St, Pekin, IL |

I left the Crafty Corner and went to a craft mall that had regular hours, and better hours.  Hopefully this will be a great new start, and the opportunity to get my shop name out more.

Kountry Nook (46)I started setting up my booth yesterday before work.  I took the rest of my items in today and finished it up.  Most of the displays that  used at the old shop didn’t really work for the new booth.  So I had to redo all of my displays and figure out the most efficient use of the space.

Kountry Nook (52)I have some new items in the new booth including new full size dream catchers and new mixed media art jewelry necklaces. I stll have my photography as well as my dream catcher pendants.

Kountry Nook (48)Some of the seasonal items I have are cute little pumpkin blocks, jack o lantern pins, and fall and Halloween wreaths. OOOOHHHHHH and the new beaded spiders I have been making!

Kountry Nook (55)I need to get some more tree of life pendants in the shop I realized as I was setting up that I didn’t have very many.  I must have taken them all to the Quarter Auctions, and to the Moon Dancer Boutique! Must restock!

A little background on the Kountry Nook…the Nook is owned by Mary H.  and has been open for 13 years now.  So they are well established.  They host many customer appreciation events throughout the year and have a Christmas Extravaganza coming up.There are over 5o vendors currently in the shop, with a waiting list to get a booth! Talk about demand!

New Opportunities on the Horizon!

A coworker of mine has taken a huge step, she is going to open her own craft boutique in Pekin.  The boutique is going to offer booth space to crafters and artists.  And I am going to rent a space!!!!  I am hoping to show and sell my photography, jewelry and maybe some of my mixed media projects.  Lucky shoppers might even be able to buy various crafty projects that I have been inspired to create.

This is an exciting opportunity.  I have been wanting to sell my work for quite some time, and this is the perfect way.  A few of the other women i work with are plnning to get booths also.  Available at the craft boutique will be plenty of baby items including wipes cases, diaper cakes, and hair accessories, among many other handmade goodies.  As soon as I have more information about the shop, including name and hours, I will get them posted.

Other opportunities on the horizon may possibly include selling my jewelry at a shop in Peoria.  But that is still in the very early stages.  Stayed tuned to see what comes of this, if anything!

How do you Measure a Year?

Its easy for forget what it takes to be married.  Especially when one is married for so longDSC_03291.  Easy to forget all the little things that keep a couple in love.  Its too easy to get complacent, to not go the extra mile.  To feel like you have just a companion or a room mate rather that an eternal soul mate.   I think it takes a trial in your life to truly appreciate what it takes to make a marriage work.  Not just love, but unconditional love, trust and appreciation.

DSC_0338There are a thousand little things I love about my husband, probably more. He brings me coffee some mornings while I am sitting checking email.  Not every morning, just random enough to make me happy and appreciate it all the more.  I am really not a morning person, so maybe he is just trying to wake me more pliable in the morning. And he loves being all happy and awake in the morning when I wake up grumpy.  When he walks by me and I have the chair footstool up, he tickles my toes.  That drives me crazy, but I admit, it makes me smile.

I woke up at 4 AM this morning, and I immediately started thinking about the last year, and the 15  years we have been married.  Today is our anniversary.  Every married couple has good times and bad, hopefully more good than bad.  While I should have been sleeping, this song popped into my head, and now I can’t get rid of it.  A song from the musical Rent.

So Happy Anniversary to my nest friend, soul mate, and best husband I could ever hope for.  All my Love, All my Life.

In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights
In cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife.

In five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure
A year in the life?

How about love?
How about love?
How about love? Measure in love

Of a woman or a man?

In truths that she learned,
Or in times that he cried.
In bridges he burned,
Or the way that she died.

It’s time now to sing out,
Tho’ the story never ends
Let’s celebrate
Remember a year in the life of friends
Remember the love!

Seasons of love!

Oh you got to got to
Remember the love!
You know that love is a gift from up above
Share love, give love spread love

2013 Guidance from a Wise Soul

I have been following the blog of a woman named Nicole Cody.  She is a woman from Australia who happens to be a psychic, and a damn good one if you ask me.  Now I know that not everyone believes in psychics, but I really do.  Her Blog is called Cauldrons and Cupcakes.  At the beginning of the year, Nicole had a post entitled Emerging from the Chrysalis – Your Butterfly Oracle for 2013.  I just opened this post this  morning, and was floored.  The post called for the reader to scroll through eight butterfly photos and pick the one that most spoke to you,  Then scroll down to the corresponding number of the photo, and read the guidance message for that photo.

Well, I did this and chose my butterfly, I would normally pick the one and only blue one, but I was drawn to the first butterfly because of the pattern on the wings. I scrolled down to read the text ans found the most perfectly fitting guidance.

1.  Australian Painted Lady Butterfly:

♥ Message – This is the year for you to trust your creativity, to fill up the well that feeds your ideas and inspiration, and to start truly honouring your journey as an artist, no matter what your creative medium might be. If you need to polish your skills find a mentor, a class or a book, but most importantly BE creative.  Make music, make art, write, and don’t be afraid to experiment with expressing your creativity in a variety of ways. Let this be the year where you create what’s in your heart and express your soul’s magic.  ♥ Crystal – Amazonite  ♥ Power Word – Creating  ♥ Australian Bush Flower Essence – Pink Flannel Flower

This is exactly how I plan to live my 2013, creating everyday.  I have so many ideas to add to this blog, I need more time and better typing skills to accomplish this!
